With a massive wine landscape, Victoria is also right up there on the global wine map. Heathcote is becoming more and more of a wine destination and its not a surprise given the amazing quality shiraz produced there. The King Valley is renowned for its Italian grape varities such as prosecco, sangiovese and nebbiolo.
Mornington Peninsula with its maritime climate produces some elegant chardonnay and pinot noir and although the Yarra Valley is renowned for pinot noir and chardonnay, it built its reputation on cabernet sauvignon. Then you have Rutherglen, which is the king of foritified wines in Victoria, amongst others of course!
*Note all these regions produce amazing wines and varieties however this is simply a guide to give you some insight into what they are typically known for.
