Coombe Farm is one of the oldest and largest family estates in the Yarra Valley, it was once the home of Dame Nellie Melba and is still owned and operated by her descendants. This Coombe Farm Chardonnay is one of the ‘flagship’ wines and one for which they are most renowned. Identifiable by its grapefruit and stone-fruit flavour intensity, enduring acidity and oak finesse, 2015 was an ideal vintage in the Yarra Valley with warm days and cool nights throughout the ripening period, ensuring perfect fruit ripeness with lovely fresh acidity – bright, crunchy, tasty wines! Think shellfish paella or drunken mussels. Panel tasting notes: a good balance of oak, yet not too oaky!
